At nearby Warwick University, you’ll find the Warwick Student Cinema, a nationally acclaimed and entirely student-run cinema, presented by the university’s Film Society. The state-of-the-art cinema’s schedule boasts big blockbusters as well as indie gems so there’s something for all movie buffs. The space is open to the general public as well as students with tickets never being more than £4, although if you fancy volunteering for Warwick Student Cinema you can see all your favourite films for free!

How does a few rounds of crazy golf and a choice of delicious cocktails sound for a great night out? Because you’ll find these and more at the retro-themed Teezers Golf in Coventry. Just a 10-minute walk away from our Coventry University accommodation, students pay just £5.95 each for a round. You can also enjoy a bite to eat at Teezers’ street food truck serving handcrafted burgers, hot dogs, wings and sweet treats.

One for the thrill-seekers, Go Ape Coventry offers challenging yet fun high rope antics. From the mighty Tarzan swing to 200 metre dual zip wires, you can race your friends to see who can complete your chosen adventures the quickest. Or, you can channel your inner warrior and spend an hour axe throwing among 500 acres of lush green space in Coombe Country Park. While you’re there, why not explore the gift shop, discovery centre and cafe, or you can enjoy walking routes around the beautiful gardens, woodlands or around the lake.

When you’re in the mood for something cultural, you’re lucky enough to have the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum practically on your doorstep. Whether you’re looking for contemporary art exhibitions, local history talks or practical workshops, you’ll find all these and more in this unique glass-fronted building. Local history buffs will enjoy the Coventry archives with artefacts and exhibits from the 1500s onwards, and just a stone’s throw away from the historical Coventry Cathedral that will really top off a cultural day out in Coventry for students.

One of the best things to do in Coventry for students has to be FarGo Village. What was previously an industrial space in the city has now been repurposed into an independent shopping destination. Go and explore an eclectic mix of over 40 independent retailers including a craft brewery, dedicated street food hall, artisanal produce and the Sgt. Bilko Vintage Emporium – one of the best museums in Coventry in our opinion!

Think you could pull off a prison break or maybe a casino heist? Escape Live Coventry might just be the spot for you! Escape Rooms are a great group activity particularly for people who love a good puzzle and problem solving. If you’ve never done one before, you and a group of friends are locked in a room and must solve a series of puzzles and teasers in order to achieve an ultimate goal, typically to retrieve the key to get out of the door, within a set time frame. It’s definitely one of the more unusual things to do in Coventry and is sure to be a fun day out. Best of all, students enjoy a 10% discount!

7. Wanyoo Esports Studio
