Southampton, Leeds, Cardiff and Reading race up the ranks

19th November 2015

Once a year, the QS World University Rankings give Collegiate residents the chance to see just how well their chosen universities have done compared to those around the globe. The rankings also give the team here at Collegiate a chance to review how well we have done in terms of choosing the right cities for our stylish student accommodation.

This year, it is Southampton, Leeds, Cardiff and Reading that have raced up the ranks. The University of Southampton has moved up from 94th place in 2014 to 81st place this year. As well as congratulating themselves on choosing a university that has improved so significantly in a single year, Southampton students can also congratulate themselves on their choice of accommodation, with Collegiate offering a private gym, on-site cinema, work rooms, games room and common room for residents of Brunswick Apartments and London Road Apartments.

In keeping with this dynamic university’s progress, Collegiate’s Brunswick Apartments offer students the chance to experience modern, superior accommodation during their time in the city. Just five minutes from the city centre, the apartments offer luxurious living to discerning students, with a handful of apartments available to those looking for accommodation from January 2016.

The University of Leeds has also made quite a leap this year, moving up ten places from 97th position in 2014 to 87th in 2015. Collegiate has a wide range of properties in the city, from charming duplexes to ultra studios with dishwashers and full ovens.

Cardiff University is another success story, moving up to 122nd place this year. The result means that it has moved up the ranking by more than 20 places since 2012. Collegiate’s three properties in the city all offer excellent locations, with en-suite studios and plenty of luxurious features.

But it is the University of Reading that has made the biggest leap when it comes to improving its position. Just two years ago, in 2013, Reading was languishing at position 213 in the ranking. Now, it has shot up to take the 156th spot.

Whether it’s private space to study or communal areas to enjoy time with friends, Collegiate has the perfect solution for the contemporary student, wherever they choose to go to uni.
