These are extraordinary times so we’re proposing some unprecedented financial measures to support our residents.
We don’t want any of our students to suffer additional stress from this crisis so if a student has suffered financially from recent events then you can request to defer your next rental instalment by up to three months – in line with what banks and mortgage lenders are doing.
If you want to request a deferment, please let us know in writing by the 24th of April 2020 by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. (Some of our landlords may operate a different policy or are awaiting permission from funders but, if this affects your request, we will notify you straight away and be reassured that your request will still be fully and positively considered).
Additionally, as the government has now advised students in their halls of residence not to leave to travel elsewhere, if the travel advice continues past the end of your tenancy, we are also planning that you will be able to stay at your residence without paying rent, pending further government advice.
Our priority at present is continuing to provide you all with safe and comfortable homes and we apologise for the need to keep communal facilities closed and to not allow external visitors – but we must follow governmental advice.
This policy will be reviewed in 30 days.
