Scottish universities attract record numbers of applicants

25th August 2015

The brand new student apartments at 333 Bath Street in Glasgow are causing something of a stir. Packed with luxury touches and centrally located, the apartments ensure that residents can enjoy easy access to both the university and the city centre.

In addition to the high spec, en-suite studios, that are bursting with contemporary style, 333 Bath Street features an exclusive residents’ club lounge, a dinner party room and an on-site cinema room, providing those who live there with a host of entertainment options for enjoying their home to the max.

The building also features a private gym, meaning that residents can work out whenever they wish – and at no additional cost! As if that weren’t enough, work and reading rooms and a dedicated games area complete the impressive offering.

The apartments are being rented against a backdrop of rising demand for Scottish university places: recently released UCAS figures have revealed that record numbers of students want to study in Scotland for the 2015/16 academic year. The number of Scottish students and the number of students applying from overseas have both risen by 2%, cementing Scotland’s popularity with students from across the world.

Scotland offers not just a range of world-class universities, but also a host of cultural attractions, a welcoming social life and some of the most beautiful, unspoiled scenery in the UK.

Both Edinburgh and Glasgow include universities with first-rate academic credentials, but Glasgow just has the edge when it comes to how students feel about their university, as the latest Whatuni study reveals. With over 20,000 students taking part, the Whatuni rankings ask a range of questions in order to identify the UK’s best uni.

Out of 113 universities that were reviewed, only one Scottish uni made the top 10: the University of Glasgow. The achievement is a significant one, highlighting the excellent experience that Glasgow’s students can look forward to, with award categories covering accommodation, city life, clubs, societies, courses, lecturers, student unions, facilities, support and international elements. Even job prospects after leaving are considered.

Of course a top-rated university deserves first-class accommodation and that is precisely why 333 Bath Street is generating such excitement: it offers exceptional student accommodation in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.

We still have a few en-suite studio apartments available for September 2015, but they are being snapped up fast, so get in touch today for details of how you can live in style during your university days in Glasgow.
