New Year’s resolutions are notoriously difficult to stick to. The year starts off with such good intentions, then everyday life gets in the way and within a fortnight all those grand ideas are shelved in order to make way for the pressures of studying.
That’s why we’ve come up with five great New Year’s resolutions for 2017 that are easy to stick to and that will very quickly have a positive impact on your life. Why not see if you can tackle all five?
1. Be more organised
We simply had to start with this one as it’s so easy to do. Get 2017 off to a flying start by being more organised and booking your fabulous Collegiate student accommodation for the 2017/18 academic year. Whether you’re studying in Newcastle, Exeter, Dundee or somewhere in between, this is a quick win resolution that takes just a few minutes to complete and which will reap rich rewards later in the year when everyone else is scrabbling around looking for a place to live while you relax and look forward to your awesome Collegiate student apartment. Book now and tick this task off the list!
2. Be healthier
Getting fit is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions. It’s also one that is quickly abandoned over the course of January, as people decide it’s too cold (or rainy, or windy, or snowy) to venture out to the gym. However, with private on-site gyms available at most Collegiate student properties, this is one resolution that should be easy for you to stick to.
3. Get cooking
Of course, getting fit isn’t all about hitting the gym. Being kind to your body by eating nutritious meals is a quick win when it comes to feeling good from the inside out. So why not challenge yourself to learn one recipe a week in 2017? By the end of the year you’ll have enjoyed some fantastic foods, impressed your friends with your blossoming cheffing skills and eaten a whole load more vitamins than you would otherwise have done!
4. Study smarter
Studying is a core part of university life, so why not resolve to do it more effectively in 2017? Test out a variety of learning environments, such as the private desk in your room, the university library, the study and seminar rooms in your building, or even a dedicated study hammock (as just introduced at our Nova student accommodation in Nottingham). Find out where you learn best and enjoy the experience the most, then build that into your study plans for the year. You’ll be able to study more effectively, feel less stressed and have more time for other activities. Now that’s a resolution worth carrying out!
5. Try new things
The start of a New Year is always a good time to resolve to try new things, so why not see which new experiences you can enjoy in 2017? This could be as simple as popping to a new café in your city or as exciting as trying out a high-adrenaline adventure sport. Of course, trying new things doesn’t have to cost money. If you’ve never tried out a running machine, why not hit the gym in your student accommodation for a quick go? If you’ve never tried your hand at Fussball, head to your games room now! Whatever you choose to do, enjoy the experience to the max and make 2017 a year to remember!
