It has been an exciting year for Collegiate so far. We’ve opened several new student accommodation sites in various locations around the UK and have been delighted to see how popular our accommodation is with students ready for the autumn term.
The Erasmus programme has been organising and funding European Union student exchanges since 1987. In 2014, the programme was upgraded to Erasmus+, which now includes education, training, youth and sport elements.
UK students can swap with their fellow students in countries across the EU for a term, six months or even a year. According to Erasmus+ figures release in September 2015, the UK has generated a total of 849 successful applications as part of this year’s funding. As the UK students head off into Europe, European students will come to the UK and we are thrilled to be able to host some of them at our Collegiate properties across the UK.
What we are looking forward to most is how pleased the Erasmus students are going to be with the quality of our student living experience.
Our focus on security is perfect for those coming to the UK for the first time, who may be nervous about visiting. With secure electronic door entry, CCTV in communal areas and on-site management, our properties offer just the kind of safety that students from overseas will need to reassure them as they settle in and become familiar with their new surroundings.
Our all-inclusive bills approach and free Wi-Fi and high-speed broadband is also appealing to foreign students, just as it is to our residents from the UK. This approach takes away the hassle of residents need to organise their own internet connection and ensures that there are no nasty surprises when it comes to energy bills.
Naturally the luxurious standard of Colleigate’s accommodation and our plethora of tempting features, from games rooms to in-house cinemas, is also extremely appealing. All in all, we are excited to be able to welcome the Erasmus students over the coming months to some of the most stylish and well thought out student accommodation in the UK.
