Living in Zone 1, you’ll be within easy reach of some of the city’s best attractions, and some of the most Instagrammable spots in London. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourites for you to start exploring this great city.

The street art of Shoreditch

You have to give yourself a couple of hours to truly explore this famed London Instagram spot. On top of the amazing restaurants, bars and shops, the street art of Shoreditch is widely regarded as world-class. It includes a Banksy on Rivington Street as well as colourful pieces from Dale Grimshaw and Mr Cenz around Brick Lane.

The colours of Covent Garden

Get some colour on your Instagram grid and take a trip to Monmouth Street where you’ll find a beautiful alley of vibrant, colourful buildings and bustling greenery. This hidden gem is truly one of London’s best Instagram spots thanks to it’s gorgeous courtyard and cobbled streets – but head there early to avoid the lunchtime crowds.

Classic telephone boxes

Nothing says London more than the classic red telephone boxes. There aren’t many left in the city but you’ll find a cute row of three of them tucked around the back of Covent Garden. It’s the perfect place to get that ‘London Calling’-inspired shot for your grid.

The streets of Notting Hill

Notting Hill is easily one of the most Instagrammable places in London, and with very good reason. The rainbow-coloured houses that line the streets of Lancaster Road and Portobello Road are complemented with quirky cafes and, of course, the famous market. Another spot where it’s good to arrive early, and also be considerate of people living in the houses you might want to photograph.

God’s Own Junkyard

This warehouse tucked away in Walthamstow is packed to the rafters with neon signage. From salvaged and reclaimed signs to old movie props and retro displays, you can have pops of bright colours, flashing lights and eye-catching messages all over your Instagram page. Note that this venue doesn’t allow specialist or DSLR cameras but is happy for you to use mobile phone cameras for personal or social media use – and it’s always polite to tag them in your shots!

Farm Girl, Soho

Easily one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in London and the epitome of pretty in pink, Soho’s Farm Girl offers up such Instagram-worthy dishes and coffees you almost won’t want to eat or drink. This cute cafe is inside Sweaty Betty’s flagship store on Carnaby Street so along with picking up some new gym gear, you can take part in classes or get your hair done at the blow dry bar – think of all those Instagram shots!

The Barbican’s Conservatory

The Barbican on Silk Street is known for its brutalist architecture and its well-deserved status as London’s cultural hub. But did you know there’s a secret botanical garden teaming with tropical plants including palm trees and banana plants? You might forget you’re in London until you get a glimpse of the stunning skyline peeking out from behind the glass. You need to book your free ticket in order to visit, and it’s best to get there early to avoid the crowds, but we think the Instagram opportunities will be worth it.

Upstairs at Rules

London’s oldest restaurant also happens to be one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in the city. The upstairs bar underwent a glow up to become the Winter Garden, which is essentially a spacious conservatory lined with chaise-lounges, tropical plants and stunning flowers. As well as sipping some truly delicious cocktails, you’ll be spoilt for choice for the Instagram shots.
