Where to Stream your Favourite Christmas Movies this December

Elaborately decorated high streets and homes. The scent of christmas trees and festive candles. December is here and Christmas is well and truly underway! 

Traditions in each household will vary from family to family, passed down the generations over decades. One tradition which is most almost certainly ingrained is sitting down together and watching your favourite and cheesiest christmas movie to help get you in the mood. 

So relax, pour yourself a large glass of wine or a hot cup of cocoa and put you feet up. We have done the hard work for you and put together a list of where and when you can stream your favourite christmas movies over the coming weeks.

 

Netflix

Netflix has a fantastic lineup. The great thing about Netflix is that most are available from now and are ready and waiting for you to watch in your own time. Here are some of the Christmas movies you will be able to watch in front of that warm open fire:

Bad Santa - This 2003 dark comedy has everything a student needs in a Christmas movie!

Get Santa - Jim Broadbent stars as Santa Claus who crashes his sleigh and is found in a spot of bother by the police.

Gremlins - How could we leave this classic Christmas movie off? This 80’s classic contains ome some of the cutest, but scariest little creatures ever know to Christmas. Just make sure not to spill any water…

The Grinch - Jim Carrey as the Grinch is both unnerving and hilarious at the same time. See how he plans to steal Christmas but is won over by a young girl who helps him bring back the Christmas cheer to all of Whoville.

White Christmas - One of the all time festive classics from 1954 Starring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and secret MVP-of-everything Danny Kaye.  A must watch!

The Santa Clause - After the accidental death of Santa, Tim Allen is left to take the reins and become the new Santa Claus. 

Miracle on 34th Street - It proves to be difficult to persuade that a man claiming to be Santa is the real deal.  Mara Wilson stars as the six-year-old Susan Walker in what is fast becoming a Christmas cult classic.

Love Actually - A popular favourite which will be available from the 14th of December. Set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, we look at how eight very different couples dealing with their love lives.

Jingle all the Way - A desperate struggle by a father in enquiring the year's must-have toy for his son.

Home Alone - Need we say more?

 

Amazon Prime

Amazon has an array of countless movies for over the festive period, but which ones are free and included in your Amazon Prime membership?

Jingle all The Way - As with Netflix, Arnie will also be hitting the screens on Amazon Prime.

A Christmas Carol - A classic Charles Dickens tale as a musical extravaganza.

A Merry Friggin’ Christmas - You really cannot go wrong with this comedy starring the late Robin Williams.

A Dog for Christmas - This one checks a lot of the 90’s nostalgia boxes!

 

NOW TV

Probably the best place to see some of the classic movies this year so it may be worth investing in a month pass!  Just don’t forget to cancel the subscription before the renewal date!

The Polar Express - Take a trip to the north pole with Tom Hanks

The Nightmare Before Christmas - Tim Burton’s stop-motion flick takes the festive charm of Christmas and twists it with the warped horror of Halloween.

The Holiday - No christmas is complete without this love story.
