Stay smart – get the best from the UK’s top two cities this summer

30th July 2015

Every year, comparison website Trivago reports on global summer holiday trends. This year, we were interested to see that Edinburgh has now surpassed London to become the most expensive place to stay in a hotel in the UK. London kept its top spot as the most popular UK location, with Edinburgh coming in second.

Of course, those students in the know are beating the hotel prices and staying in style this summer by taking advantage of our fantastic summer lets! Staying in a Collegiate apartment over the summer provides a comfortable, stylish and affordable alternative to hotel accommodation. We offer two great locations in London and two more in Edinburgh, allowing you to make the most of these exciting cities over the summer months.

In London, those looking to outsmart the hotels can enjoy either Academic House or Halsmere Studios, both of which still have a few apartments available for late summer 2015. The well designed apartments offer a true home from home that you can use as a base to explore England’s most dynamic city.

Up in Edinburgh, the Fringe Festival will be running from 7-31 August this summer and makes for a wonderful time to see this cosmopolitan city at its very best. Our McDonald Road and Gateway Apartments provide excellent locations for access to the city centre – both are just five minutes’ walk from the centre of the action. Gateway Apartments even provide a private gym and in-house cinema, in case you need to chill out and recharge before diving back into the frenetic activity of the Fringe once more!

With several weeks of summer left, if you haven’t yet experienced both of these exciting cities then now is the perfect time. Both offer extensive access to cultural activities, world-class restaurants, stunning architecture and serious retail therapy. Why not stay in both and decide for yourself which you prefer?
